Marin Freedman

Elite Instructor
Chicago
Hot Mat Pilates
Yoga Strength
Marin grew up in Chicago and has always found comfort in movement, originally as a competitive dancer in her childhood. It wasn’t until high school that she discovered strength training and realized just how powerful it feels to take up space (even at 5 feet tall). In a world that often tells women to be smaller, lifting heavy taught her the opposite. It changed her physical body, yes, but more importantly, it rewired how she sees herself. Marin entered the fitness world to help others achieve the same physical and mental shifts she experienced by pushing past failure. She has continued to expand her knowledge of exercise science, holding certifications as an NSCA Certified Personal Trainer and Pilates instructor. She’s a stickler for form, a kinesiology nerd at heart, and wants you to walk out of her class not just feeling more confident, but also understanding what your body is doing. Uncomfortable and impossible are not the same thing. Movement is hard—that’s kind of the point. And if you’re someone who chooses the hard thing because you understand what’s on the other side of it, you’ll feel right at home in her class. The concept of a ""third space"" that inspired Studio Three has always resonated with Marin. Between her full-time job in marketing and her apartment with her cat, fitness communities have always served as her third space—bringing mental, physical, and social well-being into her life in a way nothing else does.
